Ski Bunnies Hit Slopes

Abbey "earned" her poles
Claire waiting in line
Emma pouting
Asher wants in on the fun

We had the brilliant idea of teaching the girls to ski this year. No ski school for our kids. We figured Mom and Dad are both skiers, so this should be a breeze. For the first go at it, we took only Abbey and Claire. We figured one on one was a good ratio. What we didn't count on was spaghetti legs Claire. She didn't want to be let go of at all. This was fine on the bunny hill, but the actual run is a bit longer than the bunny hill. We got tired of this very quickly. On one of mom's stretches, Claire's skis got stuck under mom's and they had a massive blowout. The bruise on Jenny leg is still visible a month and a half later. Lovely. On a lighter note, Abbey was awesome! Maybe it's her age or her fearless nature, but she is really good. She did so well, that we felt brave enough to bring Emma along on our second go at it. Claire had improved so much by her second time that we were shocked, but Emma did not earn herself a second attempt, well not this year at least. She would probably be fine if we took her again, but it's not a gamble we're willing to take right now.

Seeing these pics makes me more sad that we didn't go this year! Way to go, Abbey, Emma, and Claire! (And mum & pop, for being such amazing instructors)
